The colors of spring

As the winter months melt away and the brilliance of summer begins to shine through the clouds, a feeling of hopeful anticipation arises.  The sedentary calm of winter morphs into a rejuvenating energy.  All that seemed impossible to overcome becomes surmountable.  The sun's lengthy presence carries energy and motivation.  Four seasons are a blessing to the earth.  They give us a chance to experience different sides of our own personality reminding us that at times we need to turn inward and focus on quiet contemplation and at other times we need to get up and make a move.  Those always in motion cannot reflect on their actions leaving them blind to their impact on the world.  Those always in a state of contemplation never allow their thoughts to manifest into action and therefore make little impact on the world.  A healthy balance is needed.  The changing seasons represent the importance of a balanced existence.  In winter, the world is at rest hiding beneath a cozy blanket of snow.  In summer, the world is buzzing with the energy of the sun.  Fall and Spring lighten our transition between the two.

This spring has brought me a great deal of hopeful energy.  Geneva is a beautiful city in the spring with its many green parks and endless rows of flowers.  The lake glistens in the sun begging me to play in its clear waters.  Birds sing with joy that the warmth has returned.  The grey mountains turn a brilliant shade of green.  People delight in an ice cream cone while strolling down the bustling streets.  Long warm evenings draw me out for a drink on a cafe terrace with friends.  Any trace of lonely nostalgia that was present last month has been replaced with the joy of sharing the new warmth of spring with those around me.  The possibilities for exploration seem endless and accessible.  I am open to all of the wonders summer may bring me and await them with giddy anticipation.  But first........I must pass my tests.
