“You may say I'm a dreamer, but I'm not the only one. I hope someday you'll join us. And the world will live as one.” - John Lennon
I am a dreamer. I imagine the world as a better place and I truly believe that we can make it happen. At times it is difficult to be a dreamer. I have to hold on to my dreams as they carry me out of the box that most of us live in. They take me to other places where many people can't follow. Places where preconceived truths become myths and far stretched visions become possibilities. Life has a way of putting a ball and chain on our feet, tying us to the programmed routine that we follow day after day without questioning what other options we have. The pressures of fitting in and being a success keep our dreams from blossoming. When I share my far fetched ideas I often hear; "that's just not how the world works" or "you can't change human nature." I disagree. I heard a good quote the other day, "the fight between good and evil doesn't happen with large armies but with one individual at a time." The first step to making the world a better place is believing that it's possible and dreaming up how to make it happen.
